HOUSE WEST DESIGN ON:

The Art of Light

ELEVATING SPACES WITH THOUGHTFUL ILLUMINATION

House West Design views lighting as essential to ambience, architecture, and functionality. By layering ambient, task, and accent lighting, they create balanced, inviting spaces where decorative fixtures double as statement pieces. Thoughtful planning ensures a seamless blend of style, function, and budget.

Their recent Parade of Homes project showcased the transformative power of lighting through a curated selection of Regina Andrew fixtures that embody elegance and craftsmanship. The Shine Flush Mount in the entryway created a striking focal point with its intricate glass details, while the Noble Swing Arm Sconce added both beauty and function above the nightstands in the guest room. In the powder room, the River Reed Sconces introduced an elevated yet organic feel, seamlessly complementing the home’s overall aesthetic.

“The Parade of Homes is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase design in a way that highlights both style and function,” says House West Design. “We chose pieces from Regina Andrew because their collection embodies timeless elegance and a unique sense of luxury that was a perfect pairing with the style of this home. Light fixtures are essential in setting the mood and vibe for each space. The mix of textures, organic materials, and finishes is sleek yet traditional—the perfect blend for us.”

With a shared commitment to blending contemporary and timeless design, House West Design and Regina Andrew demonstrate how thoughtful lighting can infuse warmth, depth, and personality into every space.

“Lighting is critical in creating the right atmosphere and showcasing all of the thought-out layers.”

Q&A

Illuminated Topics with Yvonne and Nichole of House West Design

Nichole:

In each project, lighting is critical in creating the right atmosphere and showcasing all of the thought-out layers. Beginning with layers of organic movement with ambient, task, and accent lighting, it’s important to consider how light can highlight architectural features, set the mood, and make spaces feel more dynamic. As a kid, I realized how powerful an environment can be in shaping one’s mood and productivity. I knew interior design was my passion.

Yvonne:

To stay inspired to create, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings on a daily basis but also when you travel. There are so many inspirations around us in our daily lives if you simply notice them. The fashion industry is always a great source of inspiration for me. I really feel like fashion trends lead interior design trends.

Nichole & Yvonne:

The biggest realization for House West Design was understanding the business isn’t just about designing pretty spaces, it’s about relationships, trust, and communication. The amount of time we have put into our relationships with our builders and partners has been the backbone of our continued growth.

Nichole & Yvonne:

Sparking self-expression in every project is critical. We work very closely with our clients to understand their unique personality and lifestyle. By bringing in pieces that resonate with their tastes, whether that’s through color, texture, or art, we help them infuse their individuality into the space. It’s about making sure that every design choice feels personal while also ensuring that it works cohesively as part of the overall vision.
