General Tips:
- Clean spills immediately so that they do not set.
- Don’t rub stains, as this can cause them to become set in the fibers, instead, blot them with a cloth.
- Make sure any product is completely removed before cleaning.
- After cleaning, use dry towels to absorb remaining moisture.
- When having rugs cleaned professional, always make use of reputable rug experts.
- Before professional cleaning, ensure the rug is inspected by the cleaner to confirm its condition and obtain a signed receipt and guarantee of work.
Material Specific:
Wool: Blot stains right away. To clean, use a mild soap mixed with equal parts white vinegar and water. Vacuum on a regular basis with beater bar off. Shedding will reduce over time. Periodic professional cleaning is recommended.
Silk: Never saturate or soak silk rugs with water as this can damage the fibers. Blot away any spills immediately and then clean with mild soap and water. Do not use oxygen cleaners. For best results, periodic professional cleaning is recommended and encouraged to protect silk fibers.
Cotton: Blot stains right away. Use a dry-cleaning powder to clean large cotton rugs. Check the labels for small cotton rugs to see if they can be machined washed in cold water on a gentle cycle. Vacuum on a regular basis with beater bar off.
Natural Fiber: Blot stains right away. To clean, use mild soapy water and blot dry. Use a fan or dryer to speed up the drying process as natural materials should not be exposed to too much moisture. Vacuum on a regular basis with beater bar off, occasionally vacuuming under the rug to remove dirt and dust that can sift through the weave. Sprouts, or stray tufts/loops, on natural rugs are normal, trim with scissors.
Polyester, Polypropene, and Recycled PET: Blot stains right away. Clean with mild soap mixed with equal parts white vinegar and water. Vacuum on a regular basis with beater bar off. For outdoor/indoor rugs, clean or remove stains by using soap or detergent and rinsing with clean water or garden hose. Allow the water to drain and the rug to dry before laying it out.
Viscose & Viscose Blend: Blot stains right away. Professional cleaning is recommended for stain removal or periodic cleaning. Vacuum with beater bar off. Viscose rugs should not be placed in areas with heavy traffic or moisture.

Dust regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth. Use a slightly damp soft cloth to clean surface, follow with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Do not saturate wood. Do not use commercial, heavy-duty polishes or waxes, as they can alter finishes. Do not place hot or moist objects directly on wood. Avoid extreme temperature and humidity changes in your home. Do not place wood items near heaters and air conditioning units. This can cause wood to crack.
